It is now possible to create and reset fades when clip content is selected in Automation Mode. The shortcut for resetting fades is 'CMD+ALT+Delete' (Mac) / 'CTRL+ALT+Backspace' (PC).
Pressing CMD+Delete now deletes the envelope of the selected automation lane in the Arrangement View (or the clip envelope in the Detail View).
Added 'Clear Envelope' to the automation lane context menu and 'Clear All Envelopes' to the Arrangement track header context menu.
The horizontal movement of automation breakpoints creates horizontal gaps when dragging clips or nudging content or automation within a time selection.
Introduced the 'Snap Automation to Grid' menu option. When enabled, automation breakpoints and segments snap to the global grid. When 'Snap Automation to Grid' is disabled, the grid snapping modifier works intuitively, and a light blue vertical line indicates when the dragged breakpoint snaps to the next or previous gridline or breakpoint.
Browser
Color labels are now stored in the same file system folder as the files they are attached to, which makes it easier to manage browser items and their assigned colors across different Live installations.

Improved the optimal loop detection for clips created with Capture MIDI.

Font rendering is now more crisp at all zoom levels.

On Windows, Live uses the keyboard's repeat settings to determine the scroll speed of scroll bars.

On Windows, the automatic HiDPI mode for VST plug-ins is now disabled. To enable HiDPI support for HiDPI-capable plugins, users must toggle the 'Auto-Scale Plugin Window' via the plug-in device's context menu.

Bugfixes
Arrangement Editing
Track content selection would not be restored on redo when the track was converted from audio to MIDI or vice versa during an edit operation.
Creating fades on multiple tracks would result in one undo step per fade instead of a single undo step.
Zooming by scrolling now works independently from the scroll direction set in the System Preferences (macOS only).
Live no longer enforces a minimum length when resizing Arrangement clips. Additionally, fixed the following bugs which occurred when freezing a track containing muted clips:
The frozen track would be silent in the area of the frozen clips, even if something should have been audible there.
Freeze tail clips could overlap with the muted clips.
The message 'Warp Marker segment BPM limit reached' would sometimes appear in the status bar when stretching Arrangement clips, even though the limit had not been reached.
Previously, erratic scrolling would occur when there was only one Warp Marker set after '0' beat time. Also, jittering would occur when dragging and holding a Warp Marker while the grid was disabled.
Live could crash when dragging a clip, if that clip's Master/Slave switch was set to 'Master'.
Autoscrolling will now always occur when dragging the loop marker to the right or the left outside the Arrangement.
Parameters that have no effect on the current Warp Mode are now correctly displayed as disabled in the Clip Envelope Control chooser.
'Reset Fade' is now applied to all fades in the current time selection. Before, it was only applied when either the fade-in end time or the fade-out start time were within the current time selection.
Automation
Deleting a breakpoint by clicking on it would accidentally move the breakpoint instead, when using a graphics tablet.
The content selection of automation lanes is now restored after undo and redo operations. Until now, only the content selection of the content lane was restored.
Breakpoints can no longer be moved into negative time.
Fixed some issues with VST and AU plug-in parameters, particularly where unconfigured parameters were heavily adjusted within the plug-in.
Previously, fade handles could be edited using the mouse or keyboard, even after switching to Automation Mode, where the fade handles were not visible.
Browser
The Live browser would fail to see files from OneDrive folders.
When installing factory packs the contained 'Ableton Folder Info' folder would not be hidden until the next startup.
Fixed a crash that occurred when .amxd files appeared in the Sounds category.
Capture
Previously, significant note overlaps were prevented when Capture MIDI detected the loop.
Control Surfaces
Fixed a crash that occurred when deleting a track while changing a parameter of that track via MIDI mapping.
File Handling
Fixed a bug where Live would incorrectly use a previous freeze sample instead of producing a new freeze sample after changing a device parameter.
Fixed a bug which prevented AU presets from recalling parameters correctly.
Live no longer runs out of memory when loading Live sets with large plug-in data (> 500 MB).
Fixed a crash that might occur when trying to recover from a crash.
Fixed a crash that occurred when closing Live while listed samples were selected in the File Manager.
Interface Improvements
Live could crash when displaying a modal plug-in dialog.
Fixed a visual glitch in the Multiband Dynamics device which caused the frames of the ”T,” ”B” and ”A” buttons to appear broken.
Previously when clicking the drop area of the Arrangement, the track highlight would either move back to where the time selection was last, or not move at all.
When shutting down Live on Windows, Live's UI would become glitchy in some cases.
On Windows 10 with HiDPI enabled, the menu bar now works as expected if the main and second window are on screens with differing pixel densities.
Waveform drawing would not work properly at certain zoom levels.
On Windows, Live no longer crashes if the file dialog is shown for a long time.
Fixed a strange looking grey blob that appeared in the Glue device's VU meter when the display zoom was not at 100%.
In MIDI Map Mode, the Status Bar’s 'mode” chooser is now wider, to accomodate the text of its options.
Live would freeze at startup when running on monitors with refresh rates above 60 Hz.
Previously, the text 'Drop Clips or Grooves Here' appeared wrapped over two lines in the Groove Pool.
Previously, 'Show Modulation' would appear in the context menu of an Envelope Editor, if a Max for Live parameter with no modulation was selected in the Clip Envelope Control chooser.
In German, the text of the Export and Cancel buttons no longer overflows in the Render dialog.
In the browser, the search field now has the right text color in the Dark theme.
In the Input/Output Channel Configuration window, labels now have the right text color in the Dark theme.
In the Groove Pool, the drop message is no longer split onto two lines.
In other places, text that appeared blurry in some buttons is now crisp again.
On Windows, if you clicked a separator, the cursor would erroneously change back to a pointing cursor.
On Windows, if using a screen with a refresh rate above 60 Hz, Live's UI would not draw smoothly and potentially lock up when loading certain plug-ins.
Under certain circumstances, a Live Set could become corrupt due to an invalid Group Track structure.
On Windows, Live could crash while launching in cases where it failed to position itself on the screen.
The playhead was no longer shown in the browser's Preview Tab.
Added further improvements to the UI performance on Windows in cases where Live runs on monitors with a high refresh rate.
Max for Live
Live could crash when loading a Set, if a Max for Live device was mapped to a macro control.

До настоящего момента все, кто ранее не использовал MAX4Live, могли найти различные оправдания этого обстоятельства. К примеру, что что это приложение нравится только тем, кто желает углубиться в интерфейс и возможности программы.
Теперь же всем стало очевидно, что MAX4Live – платформа для мейнстрим-креатива, и этот факт уже не оспоришь.
В обновленном Max for Live представлено множество инструментов, созданных креативной командой Ableton:

Henrik Schwarz Swarzonator ll
Henrik Schwarz (Генрик Шварц) – легендарный берлинский музыкант, известный в jazz-soul и electronic – среде. В своем интервью он рассказывает о том, что никогда серьезно ни на чем не учился играть: ни на гитаре, ни на клавишных. Но это не помешало ему создавать музыку при помощи MIDI.
Приветствуя сотрудничество Cycling’74 и Ableton, Генрик сделал MIDI- инструмент, помогающий музыканту импровизировать в рамках заданной шкалы. По словам Генрика, он и его коллеги по живому лаптоп-проекту Critical mass любят импровизировать во время выступлений.
И в этом помогает им Schwarzonator – виртуальный MIDI-device, «укладывающий» каждую взятую ноту в выбранную шкалу в реальном времени и подсказывающий «правильные» ноты.
Помимо собственно Schwarzonator, бесплатного MIDI-девайса для платформы MAX4Live, в комплекте поставляется Little Brother – плагин, транспонирующий остальные треки в рамках взятой шкалы, образует систему с функцией авто-аккомпанемента, знакомого нам по целому ряду аппаратных инструментов.

Alexkid Instant Haus Device
Alexkid — это объемная часть в стиле «хаус». Тем интереснее воспринимается тот факт, что теперь у каждого, кто пользуется Ableton Live и MAX4Live есть бесплатный плагин, генерирующий барабанные паттерны в стиле Alexkid. Instant Haus представляет собой 4-частный интерфейс для «быстрого приготовления» партий кика, малого, открытого и закрытого хэта и перкуссии.
В каждой части вращением ручки выбирается паттерн, звук, диапазон velocity hi & lo и сдвиг в пределах 4х миллисекунд. Дополнительно есть рандомизация параметров, заглушение, отключение всего плагина, MIDI thru и индикаторы событий.
Плагин наилучшим образом подходит для управления DrumRack, а возможность записи всех событий на дорожку позволяет вернуться в любой момент и отредактировать все, что необходимо.
Plastikman Kapture Device
Ableton Live Crashes On Startup Macbook
Kapture Device — MAX4Live плагин, созданный Gareth Williams (управляющий директор Liine) и Richie Hawtin, позволяющий сохранять сразу все настройки или «состояние» Ableton, и загружать их в любой момент, как пресет. Ричард Хоутин воспользовался услугами Гарета Вильямса для создания плагина, способного помочь Ричи в туре Plastikman 2010 года.
Kapture device создан как пресет-менеджер для всего Ableton. Сохраненный пресет можно выбрать из выпадающего меню. Он позволяет восстановить состояние программы целиком. Созданный для сцены, Kapture device найдет свое применение и в студии.
В окне интерфейса Kapture device имеется Snapshot Filter, где можно проставить метки для различных опций: MIDI, аудио, возвраты и т.д.
Robert Henke Granulator
Гранулятор — синтезатор на основе сэмплов и гранулярной технологии. Имя Роберта Хенке известно нам по командам Monolake и Ableton. Теперь у нас есть возможность узнать ту часть его деятельности, которая связана с гранулярным синтезом, который основан на принципе, когда аудио-сэмпл делится на мельчайшие фрагменты, менее 50 мсек каждый.
В отдельности гранулы звучат как небольшие клики или цифровые ошибки, но вместе к ним можно применять множество операций, например, изменять параметры кросс-фейда и получать радикально разное звучание.
На этот раз Роберт представляет бесплатный инструмент для MAX4Live, определяющий звучание Monolake и способный превратить любой звук на выбор в стену цифрового шума или дрожащий аудио-ландшафт.
Программа Ableton Live основана на гранулярной технологии. В самой программе никогда не было инструментов, базирующихся на этом принципе, многим из нас хотелось бы знать – почему. В качестве ответа у нас теперь есть Гранулятор.

Katsuhiro Chiba Classic Synths
Набор классических синтезаторов со звуком 80-х от японского музыканта Кацухиро Чиба состоит из трех устройств, созданных в MAX4Live под впечатлением от звучания классических аппаратных синтезаторов, определивших звук целой эпохи.
Opfour – достоверный клон Yamaha TX81Z, c 4-мя операторами (или осцилляторами), каждый из которых способен выдавать помимо синусоиды первых поколений FM-синтезаторов любую из 8 видов волновых форм. Поэтому, как и предшественник, Opfour производит звуки из числа классических FM-звуков – колокольчики, перкуссию, электропиано, известные из ранних записей детройского техно и чикагского хауса.

August — синтезаторный «девайс», создание которого прошло под впечатлением от классических аналоговых синтезаторов. Он представляет собой двух-осцилляторный модуль с 12 или 24Дб/октаву фильтром, классическими формами волны, шумом, регулятором баланса и собственным хорусом.

Sep2 — простой синтезатор с минимумом регулируемых параметров. Он производит звуки из двух одинаковых, но независимых синусоид и отлично подходит для lo-fi-перкуссии и темперированных ударных за счет LFO и PEG.

Mark Egloff APC-stepseq – легкий способ добавления АРС20 и АРС40 функционала классических шаговых или паттерновых секвенсеров. Марк Эглоф, днем занимающийся логистикой, вечерами мастерит секвенсоры в MAX4Live, с результатами пользователи MAX4Live могут ознакомиться бесплатно.
Mormo Pitch Drop
Модуль, способный имитировать остановку винила после обесточивания, удался продюсеру и аудио-дизайнеру под псевдонимом Mormo. Есть доказательства, что на создание этого эффекта у него ушел всего лишь день.
Подводя итог, можно смело сказать, что MAX4Live предоставляет безграничные возможности для создания уникальных композиций! Конечно, вы и дальше можете использовать метод записи плагинов на диски, что весьма трудоемко и порой затрудняет работу.
С MAX4Live вы можете разобрать любой из понравившихся плагинов, изменить его или создать на его основе новый. Уверены, что эта альтернатива гораздо привлекательнее.
Хочется добавить только одно: не ограничивайте себя! Используйте новые возможности и стремитесь к индивидуальности!
